Getting Ready for LFA's Fall Family Fest

Linda used her mom's "made from scratch"German Chocolate Cake recipe for the Early Childhood Department's Family Fest Cake Walk to be held Sunday, October 25th. The Cake Walk is one of many fun activities planned. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. There will be a special presentation in the sanctuary at 6:00 p.m. with big give-aways. All children must register in order for their name to be drawn. After Pastor Greg's presentation, the Elementary children will be dismissed to go to the Youth Center while the Early Childhood children go to the Fellowship Hall.

Here is the final "packaged" cake. It is in a "pumpkin bowl" that the winner will get to keep for their own fall dishes. There is also a surprise in the bowl under the cake that a child will enjoy finding. Come join us for the Cake Walk to find out what it is! Please note that no "scary" costumes are allowed.

LeeAnn Damron and I (Linda) took Brynn, Neely and Luke to the pumpkin patch and farm. It was great fun! It was a really windy day, but it didn't keep us from having a great time!

Making Pie Crust in a Pan

At Friday night's G-Cuisine, Linda demonstrated how to make pie crust formed in the pan

First, combine all of the ingredients in the pie pan. Then mix together to form a ball

Form the crust right in the pan, then flute the edges. No rolling necessary!

Prick the crust to prevent it from puffing up while baking the crust. Voila! Bake and enjoy a flaky crust every time without much effort!
