The Dream Vision to Reality Leadership Rally

Sunday, August 24, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. over 300 people gathered in the fellowship hall to reminisce about Lawton First Assembly's past and to launch the vision of the new children's wing and sanctuary remodel. It was a wonderful evening of fellowship and vision casting. The Daniel Fast continues and so does the expectation for God to show His power in our
church.

Daniel Fast Recipe

We thought those of you who are committed to the Daniel Fast, might enjoy seeing a recipe Linda made today. It is Vegetarian Chili. If you like spicy, you will like this one! She can't share the recipe because of copyright, but here is the website where it came from: http://www.danielfast.wordpress.com/. It is an e-cookbook that you can pay for and download if you choose. It has been helpful to Linda (and others) this week. Most of the recipes call for fresh fruits and vegetables, however, she recommends that you carefully check out the labels on canned goods that may be listed in some of these recipes. (Watch for hidden sugar.)

Sanctuary Remodel Continues

This is crunch week for those involved in the sanctuary remodel. As you can see the platform look is beginning to change. Sunday, August 24, 2008 is the scheduled reveal date. Check back soon for the reveal pictures.

1st Day of "Breakthrough"

These pictures were taken during the 2nd service at Lawton First Assembly. Today is the first day of our corporate call to Fast and Pray. Pastor Don preached the 2nd sermon in the series "Breakthrough," entitled: "The Power of Fasting" from Matthew 17:18-21. The pictures show the spiritual hunger of the congregation as we praised and worshipped the Lord together.

"Grand Kitties and Grand Puppy"

Brent and Lindsay have 2 rag doll cats. They are about 1 year old now. Recently, they added a puppy to their family. She is 8 weeks old and so cute! So what to do? We just have to call them our "Grand Kitties" and"Grand Puppy!"

New Look for Lawton First Platform

The platform at Lawton First is getting a "face-lift." New lighting, a large curtain, new wide screen projectors and portable staging will transform the look of the platform. The "reveal" Sunday is scheduled for August 24, 2008. Check back for future updates as the process continues.

"Breakthrough" 21 Days of Fasting and Prayer

Today, Pastor Don began a new sermon series on fasting and prayer entitled, "Breakthrough" 21 Days of Fasting and Prayer. The banner pictured is a 21 day calendar beginning August 17 and ending Sept. 6th. It is being displayed on the platform throughout the series. The many "dots" you see represent the people's committment to fast and pray for that 21 day period. There is a new spiritual hunger drawing the congregation to this corporate fast. In Pastor Don's series he will be explaining the different kinds of biblical fasts and the benefits of fasting and praying.
