Brent's Birthday November 27, 2008

Thanksgiving is truly a day of "Giving Thanks" for the Barnes family. 25 years ago this weekend, Brent arrived on the scene. He was only 3 months ahead of schedule! He weighed in at 2 lbs. 14 oz. and was 15 inches long. Just look at him now! Dad couldn't resist the traditional birthday "spanking!" Love those expressive faces!

G-Cuisine Cookie Exchange

Friday, November 7, 2008 G-Cuisine Girlfriends gathered for a cookie exchange. Jackie Somerlott demonstrated how to make "Candy Cane Cookies." We chose this recipe because there is a legend of why the Candy Cane was first created. The legend talks about 18th Century bans of public display of Christianity. A candy maker found a way to share his love of the Lord with the world. Check out the story online at http://www.reasonfortheseason.com/. All of the girlfriends present brought cookies and the recipes to share. It was alot of fun. G-Cuisine will be held next in January when we bring "comfort foods." Yum!
